CHARACTER
Name: Gemini Paradox
Canon: Saint Seiya Omega
Age: Younger than 25, but definitely over 16
Timeline: Right after her defeat in Gemini Temple
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A
Personality:
At first glance, Paradox seems like a strong, elegant woman. She is the Gold Saint of Gemini, one of the strongest Saints of Athena. She calls herself the Saint of Love and constantly declares her desire to spread love to the world. Her gestures are somewhat grandiose and clearly aimed at attracting attention and admiration, but is overall calm and mature. She is polite even to her opponents, keeps her temple as a paradise filled with flowers and cute critters, and even invites opponents to have tea with her. Even when she must fight, she keeps a calm smile on her face and constantly offers her opponents the choice of coming over to her side, as see in the fight with Ryuho. She is also smart, being able to train to master another Saint's move from just seeing it in action, like she did with Shiryu's Rozan Shoryuha. In addition, she acts like a big sister figure, "mentoring" Ryuho by telling him stories about his father and showing him possible futures with her Crossroads Mirage. At the same time, she is also overly affectionate. She clearly states she has a crush on Shiryu to the point of writing him a love letter, and she loves Ryuho just because he is Shiryu's son. She hugs and kisses him multiple times just to express her love. In fact, her love is so obsessive that she does not realize Ryuho is not Shiryu, and that he is just a teenage boy.
Her obsessive love is just a hint at her true personality. Underneath the facade of Paradox of Love is Paradox of Hatred, her alternate personality. As Paradox of Hatred, she is filled with rage over those who would reject her "love." She is no longer affectionate, but violent, almost beating Ryuho to death for refusing to join her. She is easily set off, and much less restrained in using her raw power to pulverize opponents or ranting at them. While her "love" side continuously offered Ryuhou the chance to ally with her, her "hate" side immediately punched and kicked him into unconsciousness as payback for just scratching her face. Her true thought processes are also darker than what her Saint of Love persona might imply. Born with the power of precognition, she was able to foresee possible futures for herself at every major "crossroad" of her life. During one of her rants as the Saint of Hatred, she claims that she willingly chose to betray Sanctuary to Mars, and that she willingly chose to never confess her love to Shiryu because she knew she would be rejected then. She portrays herself as cold and calculating, forever using her powers to stay one step ahead people and manipulating them into choosing the future she wants.
However, even that is a facade. Though she does enjoy having the advantage in terms of information, every "choice" she made was to simply not act. She always sat back to let things unfold. She tore up the love letter to avoid heartbreak. She never told other Saints about when Mars first invaded Sanctuary to avoid being killed. In truth, she's a meek, scared little girl who could never take risks. Though she seems to have left her shy childhood personality behind, she has not changed at all. Both the dignified Saint of Love and the raging Saint of Hatred are personas she has assumed to defend herself from the world. By hiding her true self away, she can keep from explaining herself or accepting the fact that she is a coward.
In either form, she is a fatalistic person, and has been since childhood. While she claims to believe in choice, she has a tendency to be heavily biased toward certain choices as the right ones. Choices that usually entail harm to other people, while she herself benefits through inaction. In her early years, she regarded her precognition powers as a curse and became standoffish toward other people, giving them only bad predictions; while her younger sister Integra was more personable and gave people only good predictions. As a result, people naturally liked Integra over her sister. In her home, it turned into a case of her parents favoring Integra while abusing Paradox, neglecting the older girl to the point of refusing to properly clothe or feed her and shutting her away so they could ignore her. In Sanctuary, it meant Integra was better favored to win the Gemini cloth. Due to these incidents, Paradox developed a deep hatred and jealousy of Integra. She believes that Integra exists to be a parasite, stealing away everything Paradox ever valued. She is obsessed with proving that she is better than her sister, and it was her other driving motivation to become the Gemini Saint. Her troubled childhood also means that since nobody loved her other than the sister she hated, she never learned how to make herself lovable or to truly, unselfishly, love another person. The closest she gets is pretending to be the cheerful, mature Saint of Love.
In the end, Paradox is still a twisted person. She is obsessively in love with Shiryu, and obsessively hates her own sister Integra. Her cowardice and lack of responsibility means she lacks the moral fiber to make the right, or even the active choices. She allies with people called evil not out of her own beliefs, but because it's easy. She would rather make excuse like the fact that it's fate, or because her sad childhood removes her guilt over her actions, or even that she's been a manipulative bitch through and through than to strengthen her resolve or even admit her mistakes. Her reaction to being defeated by mere Bronze Saints and then given a lecture on why she could not win is to go on a rampage that later ends with her imprisoned for refusing to swear loyalty to Athena. She is selfish, putting her own needs and desires above those of others. She ignores Ryuhou's discomfort and insists on flirting with him. She never noticed Integra's love for her, preferring to think of herself as a victim and Integra as an enemy. Though she derives joy from controlling others using her powers over "fate," she really has little control over herself. Her true shyness means she will never be true to her heart and will forever cover herself with facades. It also means that since everything she has is built on lies, her personality is extremely unstable. Just a slight push can destroy the equilibrium she has built between her personalities and send her into true, cackling madness. Above all, she fears rejection, since she spent much of her childhood rejected and alone. Having her initial advances rejected by Ryuho causes her to switch to her "hate" persona, and, at a later canon point, she betrays Athena due to perceiving her imprisonment as rejection.
Perhaps the only good thing that can be said about her is that she genuinely enjoys her hobbies. As a Gold Saint, she has cultivated an image of high-class taste. She enjoys her tea and her gardening. Even when consumed by rage, the one thing she never harms are the animals that populate her garden. As the Saint of Hatred, she was willing to stop and straighten out a flower that had been crushed under her feet. Her deepest wish is also a craving for unconditional love and acceptance. She joined Mars' Gold Saints because they seemed to accept her. At a later canon point, receiving unconditional love for Athena is enough to pull her back from her madness and give her the resolve to actually improve herself for the first time in her life.
Background: Paradox. General canon and specific part of canon.
Abilities: Paradox is a Gold Saint, and, as such, is the strongest class of Saint. Like all Saints, she fights through bursting her cosmo, energy created through a piece of the "big bang" that can be found in all humans. She can move at light speed, and her attacks crush her targets by splitting them into their component atoms. Like her predecessors, Paradox, as the Saint of Gemini, has some of the strongest abilities among the Saints in her generation. When sneak attacking, her speed is enough to get past four of her fellow Gold Saints, and her strength is enough to make Kiki, Saint of Aries, struggle with maintaining his Crystal Wall, a supposed absolute defense. Therefore, while her stamina or average abilities might not match some other Saints, her acceleration and momentary force are probably the greatest among Gold Saints.
One special ability she has is splitting her personality in half, letting her split personality carry half of her already great cosmo. When her personalities switch, her cosmo is rejuvenated, thus letting her fight for twice as long and twice as hard as any normal saint. By continuously switching from her default face, Paradox of Love, to her alternate face, Paradox of Hatred, she essentially becomes two Saints in one. Each personality fights with the same amount of power as a normal Gold Saint, with the face of Love being a little more skilled with techniques and the face of Hatred having more raw force.
In addition, she has attacks associated with the Gemini Constellation.
Crossroads Mirage: Paradox's default attack. This utilizes the two abilities of all Gemini Saints to affect an opponent's mind and space itself. She pulls herself and the opponent into a pocket dimension, where several futures, in the shape of bubbles, float along. The opponent is then forced to make a sadistic choice among two futures, both of which require a great sacrifice on their part. If they refuse to choose, then the pressure of being torn between two futures will rip apart their mind and body.
Rozan Shoryuha: A technique copied from Dragon Shiryu and originally not included in a Gemini Saint's move set. Paradox focuses the entirety of her cosmo, and even her blood flow into an uppercut punch. The energy takes the form of a dragon rising into the heavens. However, one major weakness is that it will leave her heart unguarded for a millisecond as she sets up for the move. If an enemy can hit the user's heart in that interval, then the user's blood and cosmo will literally explode out of their body, usually with fatal consequences.
Fortunate Wall: Another attack not included in the Gemini Saint's usual moves. Paradox, through vibrating the air in front of her, creates a shield of wind that can block attacks.
Final Destination: Paradox's strongest attack and another attack that manipulates space. Firing it like a laser, she sends her opponents into a dimensional void where their senses are stripped away.
First Person:

[Since she had come into the city a while ago, Paradox has adjusted to life here. In a way, it's good to have modern utilities like running water or electricity again. But the city can never match the sheer glamour of life as a Saint, nor the elegance of her Gemini temple.]
[Still, she can at least try to make her new home a little less crude. She's taken up cooking and gardening again. Though her apartment is getting a bit cluttered and messy with all of the flower pots, it's worth it for the color and fragrance of the flowers.]
[Today, she's working on a new type of flower she has only just found in Ruby City. She doesn't know its name, and it matches nothing from the books that she has read during her time in Sanctuary. As with many of those who have questions, she defaults to the network to get some answers. She uses the video option, placing the watch on a desk to show her holding the potted flower.]
Good day, Ruby City. How are you? This is your Saint of Love, Paradox. I've got a little bit off a question for you today. Which one among you recognizes this flower? And who knows anything about taking care of it?
[She holds the snow white, five-petal flower closer to the camera.]
B
[The usual morning peace of the city is broken by the noise of screaming and breaking glass.]
I'll teach you to fuck with me!
[The Paradox that leaps through the air is much different from her usual self. Instead of any clothing, she only has a towel wrapped around her wet body. Her hair has gone from its usual light blue to a pitch black. Her normally smiling face is twisted in an angry, hateful express.]
[As she lands, her feet crack the pavement. Not that she notices as she stomps over to the man who had just been hurled from her window to the streets below. Even as he struggles to stand, she kicks him down again.]
Peep at me in the shower, will you? This body is not for the like of scum to see! Get it? Worm! Trash! Asshole!
[She only stops her attacks when she sees the man has stopped moving. Then, she turns and growls at the on looker.]
What the fuck are you looking at? Can't a woman deal out justice to a pervert in her own house?
Third Person:
The routine of the city, Paradox found, was eerily similar to her life in Sanctuary. A little more relaxed, perhaps. Definitely less violent. But overall, the same. She made tea. She cooked. She cleaned. She tended to her flowers. She went on the streets to spread her message as the SAINT OF LOVE. Sometimes, she even sparred with the few people in the city who could match a Saint's power.
Perhaps she was lucky to be born in such a peaceful era, when Hades and Poseidon and the Titans had all already been subdued. She wasn't lost as to how to live peace, and she had cultivated a few hobbies. Unlike certain idiots downstairs that she could name. And Mars, who led Sanctuary, was stronger than even Athena. She didn't have to worry about ceaseless warfare. Most importantly, this Gemini Gold Cloth ensured she was better than Integra ever could be. The only difference between Ruby City and Sanctuary was that she didn't have to worry about missions or even the occasional enemy who had the luck to make it past Harbinger. It was something like a vacation from Saint life. Even better, there were so many people willing to love and admire her without knowing anything about the past she had thrown away.
Of course, just because the city was peaceful did not mean that there was never trouble. She had seen things like monsters and spirits come attacking, or just natural disaster seemingly out of nowhere. Though they did not target her or Athena specifically, they were still unwelcome intrusions in her life. Therefore, she had to clean them away from the city. It was her duty as a Saint.
So now, she stood at the mouth of the park, staring down some of the wolf-men trying to run into the rest of the city in the wake of the latest disaster. Clad in her immaculate gold armor, with her long hair streaming behind her, she looked like an angel descending from the heavens, specially since she stood against the backdrop of the devastated city. But the smothering golden aura she emitted was anything but gentle or angelic. She tsked her tongue at the large pack growling at her, ready to spring at any second.
"Oh my. What a savage bunch. I do hate having to play something as crude as exterminator, but I guess I'm the only one here."
Her hand balled into a fist.
"So get ready to receive the love of Gemini."
The motions of the punch were all too familiar to her. It was a move she treasured, since it connected her to the one she loved. It was his attack, and her mastery of it was a confession of her love. His name was Shiryu, Saint of the Dragon constellation, and his sure-kill attack was...
"ROZAN SHORYUHA!"
The pink tornado of cosmo swirled outward and upward from the path of her punch. It sucked in the wolves and flung them through the sky. At the same time, the tornado flew away into the sky in the shape of a dragon. In an instant, the majority of the pack was cleared away.
However, Paradox did not notice the pained howling of the creatures or their bloodied remains slamming on the ground. She focused only on the memory of Shiryu.
...How long had she been here without him? The one thing that Sanctuary had, but Ruby City did not. Shiryu, that perfect Saint, the man she loved since childhood, the man who set her on her current path. He was still back in her world, and he might not even know that she exists.
"Ah...Lord Shiryu."
She whispered, closing her eyes. She could see him in her mind as clearly as she had when he rescued her from that car accident. The image of the man in Chinese clothing with long, dark hair had been engraved in her heart.
"Will I ever see you again?"
And remembering Shiryu, she must remember Ryuuhou too. Ryuuhou, the boy who was like a younger clone of Shiryu. And unlike his father, he was unmarried. She actually had a chance to win his love...but he had rejected her...
She felt a pain building inside her. Pain that seemed to stab through her chest and spread through her body. The pain of being without love. The pain of having a loved one push her away. Anger and sadness and sheer, boiling hatred swirled together. And, as the painful emotions filled her, she transformed.
It was like she had been swallowed by darkness. Her hair became pitch black. Her cosmo expanded, becoming even more aggressive.
"Well, would you look at that. You little bitches pissed me off."
There was an unhinged smile on her face as she cracked her knuckles.
"Good thing you're too stupid to run."
The Saint of Hatred charged forth. Any pain she felt from love could just be taken out on the pack of monsters trying to attack her.
Note: Paradox is overpowered. I'd understand if her powers were nerfed in some way in the city.
